Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
The Company
Private Tech was founded in early 2022 by Palantir and Anduril alums with deep expertise in privacy and national security. We are building a cellular service provider that helps citizens (including those responsible for our nation’s security) regain their personal digital sovereignty, beginning with the devices in their pockets.
We have raised money from Andreessen Horowitz, XYZ, and other top tier VCs, and are growing the team.
We believe that where we are, where we go, and whom we are with is among our most personal information and should be kept private. Privacy is not something you achieve by limiting yourself or by doing less, it is a set of features to be built so you can do more.
The Team
Our engineering team has decades of experience solving deeply technical problems up and down the stack. Engineering is the main effort of the business– building things that have never existed before is what we do.
The Role
We are leaning on you to build the infrastructure and run the systems that power our cellular service provider: our mobile core, IMS, and OSS/BSS stack. You will grow the team that keeps a watchful eye on our system’s capacity and performance. Our cloud-based stack must be reliable, performant, and most importantly for our customers, secure. The Private Tech brand promises a heightened level of security, and we will seek certifications and accreditations that prove we are keeping that promise. In addition to a history of SRE excellence, a background in one or more of the following is a plus: telecommunications, privacy preserving technologies, cryptography, FedRamp.

Qualifications
Required
6+ years of software engineering / SRE experience.
Desire to engage with the leadership team on integrating engineering equities with the rest of the business to achieve a successful launch.
Fluency in Java/Kotlin, Golang, Rust or similar language.
Familiarity with Amazon cloud services and ecosystem.
Experience with building and/or setting up development, debugging, and monitoring tools.
Experience designing, building, and delivering high availability systems and infrastructure.
Passion for privacy and national security.
Preferred
Familiarity with mobile technologies like the IP media subsystem (IMS), 4G/5G mobile core network functions, SIP, and/or webRTC.
Experience with cloud native orchestration tools and frameworks such as Terraform,
Kubernetes, Elastic Beanstalk, or CloudFormation.
Experience managing redundant, high availability multi-site deployments.
Experience organizing documentation to support security accreditation (FedRamp, ATO processes, etc).
Experience building and managing a high performing engineering team from scratch.
